The Swinerton Foundation was formed in 2002 to act as the charitable arm of the Swinerton company for which all charitable giving would be centralized or guided through. After fifteen years, the Foundation’s Board of Directors adopted a new mission and main focus areas, which you will find here on this website. Although the corporation is located in San Francisco, California, we provide funding to non-profit organizations across the United States.
The Foundation will accept grant requests upon invitation.
The Foundation will consider the following types of grants from Eligible Grantees:
- Grants to provide operating or general support;
- Grants to support a specific project or program;
- Grants to match a pre-determined amount raised by the grantee organization from donors unrelated to the Foundation or Swinerton on a dollar-for-dollar basis or any other ratio (non-employee “matching grants” or “challenge grants”);
- Pledges;
- Multi-year or installment grants;
- Grants that are collaborative with other donors;
- Grants to support fundraising events held for the benefit of a grantee organization (“event grants”);
- The acquisition by purchase or otherwise on behalf of a grantee organization of one or more specific items of equipment needed for a project or program; and
- Requests for in-kind donations of materials or volunteer services from Swinerton and its employees.
At this time, The Swinerton Foundation does not accept solicitations for grants.
